I mentioned yesterday, that I was building an abode for the Altos that was slightly less austentatious than their present home... I lied. It is autentatious, it also has delusions of grandeur - thus the rather grand name, Abington Court. It is, however, a lot less *tacky*. Though I've yet to furnish it for them (and I will, even if simply to find out if it is possible to furnish something so damn big without giving in to impatience and poor taste (and CC)), I'm hoping to make the interior elegant, but with obvious signs of new money... so no dusty old furnishings this time - I'm saving that for the Landgraabs!
I really enjoyed building this, but it's original exterior made it look like something a footballers wife would call home - so I calmed it down a little and replaced the original pink brick that I'd chosen with roughened stone. I also managed not to use CC in the actual building of this one, and although I tried out a white trimmed roof - it didn't look quite right.
I have, however, used one store item in the garden - the Beijing Incense Burner - it looks fab with roses spilling over it's edges - and it even looks good with some of the taller shrubs in it too.
By the time I'd finished fiddling with the interior floor plan, it had - 3/4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, excercise rm, family/games rm, kitchen breakfast rm, dining rm, study, utility rm, great rm, 3 integral garages, a deck to the rear, a large pool area... but no kitchen sink! Enjoy the picture spam, a couple of them are simply because I liked them, and not to *sell* the house (though I hope they will!). You'll find floor plan images at the download itself. There'll be a link to the download at the bottom of the page.

Love this home Lily, it is certainly much nicer than the original! I love that you have outlined the pool with a small fence, it looks dead fancy, I am sooooooo going to use this idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks, LJ! The best fences (I've found) to use for outlining, are by Cyclonesue at TSR, the flat cement roof trim. I've not used them in this one because I'm still trying not to use CC (overmuch).
ReplyDeletehello... I have recently found your site and absolutely love it! There is one problem however, I am dying to download your stuff but since Sims 3 Musketeers has been hacked, i was wondering if you could download this house to your site using Mediafire or something of that sort, that would be great! Let me know!
ReplyDeleteHello Abby, thanks for the compliment of liking my stuff :) I'm going to attempt to put as many of the downloas featured on this blog, as I can, onto mediafire - they should all (hopefully) be there by the end of the day. I'm going to write a post explaining this, and where to click to download. If you can't get what you want today, please, please try again tomorrow - we may even have a large part of S3M up and running again by then... highly unlikely, but you never know.
