* Vale Vista

I figured that if Bob Newbie is going to feature in Betty's life at all, that his family home needed a revamp...  however - upon closer inspection the whole place killed any desire I had to change it and it dried up any creative juices to a mere mud puddle - so I bulldozed the bugger and built a slightly more pleasing, modern home for the family to live in. It was modeled roughly around a plan I found, but altered to suit the family that are going to live in it.

 The whole thing is open plan living except for the bedrooms and bathrooms, each of which there are two. The bedrooms both have walk in closets that you can convert into more bedroom/bathroom space if you choose. The ground floor has a large space for living, dining and a kitchen. The first floor has a large mezzanine that's perfect for a bar/games room. There's an integral single garage, a courtyard styled patio/pool area and an annex type study area. I've left the entire thing unfurnished, because I want to use a fair old whack of store stuff to decorate, and I really can't be arsed to draw up a list. As it is, the building already contains a few build items from the store.

I think the only thing that's missing, is a forty foot fence to keep the sodding paparazzi out. That particular aspect of Late Night is absolutely doing my head in. I really am not overly keen on all of my sims randomly becoming celebrities - it lends a whole new direction to the meaning of the word communism. Even Vadim Simovitch has a two start celeb rating, and it's seriously put Fatty's nose out of joint as she's currently only mooning about with one. It happened when I wasn't looking.

  1. Gorgeous house, Lily! I can't wait to see the inside as well. I hear you on not wanting to do a CC list...they're a headache and what keep me from sharing some of my homes. I wish EA made that aspect of sharing stuff easier. I'm also with you on hating the blasted paparazzi and forced celebrity levels. I've been killing the paparazzi on the spot and using Shimrod's mod to hopefully keep the game from generating new ones. I'm not sure if it's working yet or not. And then I use Twallan's Master Controller to put any celebrities back to zero points because there should not be any celebs in my tiny town. Annoying!! Anyway, I am really looking forward to see what Betty and Bob are up to! :)

  2. Thanks Jen, I'm glad you like it! I may have to pick your brains about those mods, the celeb thing is ridiculous in a town like Riverview!

  3. Thanks lovely Lil'! I so wanted to re-do that home, it had potential but honestly, this is soooo much better! I bow to your builder's skill.

    So Fatty's a 1 star celeb eh? Well, it ain't fittin', just ain't fittin'! She should at least have 1/2 a star. *snickers* Thanks again for sharing doll.

  5. Hello! (Me again) How did you get your blog popular? Did you advertise or just let it spread by word of mouth? And for some *odd* reason, I can't seem to figure out how to put my page on My Sims 3 Blog... Cuz yours is...! I really do love your site and I can't wait until the next post!! :-) Have a GREAAAAT day.. (Cheesy huh)

  6. LOL! Very cheesy Hollywood! As to your questions, no - I don't really advertise my blog. I let my friends at LivingSims know when I've posted something new, but that's about it. My blog isn't about being popular, it's about sharing - whether that's a story, a frame of mind, a few pictures or a building - doesn't matter. It's just good to be a part of something.
    As to your second question about your page and your Sims 3 Blog - I have no clue what you mean. Sorry :(
    Lastly, thankyou very much - I'm happy you like my blog xx

  8. Hello! Can you please make a tutorial on how you built houses? Not the basis but how you find inspiration, how you decide for the floor plans, ... This would be so amazing for us *poor builders*! Thank you!

  9. Sara, I'm afraid I don't write tutorials as I only play/build for the fun of it. If you'd like some inspiration for floor plans, why not google *house plans* and see what you come up with. There are loads out there, and much better than anything I can tell you. Good luck!

  10. Ok *insert sad face* I have a lot of houseplans but I'm not very good for colors, patterns, place objects, etc... So I will continue creeping on your blog and try to learn how you do to make such beautiful work! *hide and creeps in the shadow*
    Greetings from France ;)

  11. Sara, you're a sweetheart, and I really do appreciate the compliments - my friend Velvet has started a wonderful section in her own blog, about decorating and object placement - you'll find it here - http://lkevelvet.blogspot.com/p/inspirational-design-january.html - always worth returning to take a look at, as she intends to provide more information/tutorials in the future! I hope that helps, at least a little xx
