* La Place Du Village

Many, many moons ago, when I was a little girl - my family and I camped in the midst of the vineyards in St Emilion in France, a village famous for it's wine. The village square was very charming and everything  was set out in an appealing fashion. If I remember correctly, the centre of the village square was where the restaurant had laid out it's tables for customers to eat, and surrounding it were little cafe tables and chairs. There were vines and climbing plants and a general atmosphere of bonhomie. It was wonderful.

I returned, years later as a young woman, to discover that St Emilion had gone to the dogs. The village square was untidy and unkempt. There was no bonhomie. That's kind of how Champs Les Sims feels, especially when you're photographing your sims wandering around. So I decided to change more than just The Catania Cafe and the actual village square was next on my list. It's not hugely different, my playable makeovers never are because I do them for me, and share them with you. However, it really does take a lovely photo and feels far more like the village square from my childhood than the latter one.

I think I've only used one item of store content - the champagne bottle and glasses, other than that, the rest is from various EPs.

  4. Cheers, Jen - I was sick of looking at the barren little park in the middle of the sqaure and though it's very similar, it is different (that made sense in my head)!

  5. Lil' these are some beautiful pics m'friend. I do love a good makeover and you never fail to please. It's just too bad that I don't have WA so I could enjoy the fruits of your work. :(

    Oh well, I'll just have to visit and star at the screen more often. *snickers*

  8. Thanks, nengi - I know what you mean... a couple of my friends have taken on huge projects with entire neighbourhoods from scratch - I just don't have the time to do anything similar!

  9. Wow - thats stunning.

    I could never get anything that nice in my game, my house would always grow organically, if we had a child I would sellotape a new room on the side. My brother was always the architect.

  10. Thankyou, Distilled. I'm glad you like it. I tend to play the same way as you - organically - when I play a legacy. I like the idea that their home changes with their needs and the size of their family :)
