* The Nectary

I've been working on revamping the Champs Les Sims Nectary since I first decided to send Betty Simovitch *adventuring*. Not just because of aesthetics (although that's always going to be part of the reason) - but mainly because the Nectary was so poorly designed by EA for gameplay in it's initial stages.
They'd placed tables and chairs in the Grape Pressing Cellar/Room - and sims would automatically gravitate to these whenever they had food or drink.... and sims really don't move fast - if your mind wanders during gameplay and you expect them to be doing the next queued item when you *come to* - you're bound to be disappointed by the fact that they have only just lifted their spoons or raised their glasses after the arduous trek from the nectary kitchen to the GPC/R!

So far, I've just redecorated the interior. Moved a wall, filled in a doorway and refurnished the place. I've not yet play tested it (my bad, but it ain't up for download (yet) so no biggie on the doodoo front), patience is only a virtue in the sleeping (or the dead now  they have all the time in the world) - and I wanted to test out a few different tweaks in my paint program as well as make a *look what I did* post on my blog. Not sure about the tweaks, the pictures may be a tad over sharpened - feel free to let me know what you think.

I'm still trying to keep the use of CC to a minimum - I've only used an open book, a tea set, a pair of glasses, one plant and some cushions (so far) - also, I've not touched the MASSIVE tomb below The Nectary - I don't want to fubar my gameplay. If I ever bother with the exterior (I'm getting bored with this one now, so who knows), you can be sure that I'll share the pictures. I won't be able to help myself.

  2. The place looks great! I love your decorations and your colorchoises!

    The pictures are wonderful, very sharp and clear some looks almost real!

    Didn't you do a makeover on this lot before?

  3. Lily what a great makeover! I really hope you do do the exterior, but I totally get getting bored with a project after putting so much work into one part - happens to me ALL the time only I do the exterior first :) As for pics I would probably say they are just a tad on the sharp side (I loved how you edited them before) but not so much to detract from the awesomeness!!

  4. Nohan, thankyou my love :D ...and yes, I did do a makeover on this one before, but lost the whole thing in a game meltdown - and the colours were a lot darker and less *French*.

    Beatdoc, thankyou sweetheart - sooo glad I'm not the only one that has a short attention span ;0)
    I think I may go back to the way I normally present pictures too :D

  6. :0( I lost this one completely when I got my new desktop, just before Christmas, it crashed my game when I tried to place it! - but I do intend to do it again, as close to this as possible - then put it up for download... at some point ;0) Whatever you do, don't hold your breath - you may die!

  7. Yikes! Breath!
    It's alright, I already enjoy the other two lots you (re)made. I tried them out into a Champs separate world, loved them, but now I want to put them somehow somewhere in Galaad :) Yes, I am still playing that one LOL

  8. LOL - you're more consistent than me - I have the attention span of a gnat! I'm seriously tempted to give Galaad another go. It's the perfect size for decent game play. Didn't consider placing the Champs lots there! I'm glad you like them enough to add them to a main hood (pssst, leave some space - I've revamped another three ;0) ) xx

  9. That's the things, my computer can't handle big ass maps and to be honest, neither can I! Galaad is still perfect for me and my needs :P
