* Betty's Living Room

I've not loaded my game and played it, for almost a month. I have loaded it... but got no further than the saved games screen before thinking "Ugh, bored now" and turning it off again. Even now, I've only played it long enough for Riverview to hit daylight hours so that I could take a few pictures of Betty's home.

As you could probably tell from the title, this is Betty's Living Room or Lounge , depending on whether or not you were dragged up... or brought up. I was dragged up. I gave them no choice.

I wish I could show you the whole thing, and not just one room - but it's not finished. Betty still has a lot of travelling and living to do, and though the basic structure is complete (for now), I don't want to share pics of a place that's incomplete. However, as each room get's furnished/finished, my OCD dictates that I MUST share it and keep my pictures folder nice and tidy.... plus it reminds you lot that I ain't actually dead... just a tad distracted by real life... and zumba.

I genuinely loved creating and decorating this room, probably because for the first time in ages, I was decorating for a sim that I know (if that's at all possible). I think Betty is an adventurer, but a bit of a tradionalist at heart. I wanted her to be able to travel the world (that's available to her) and come home to somewhere that was welcoming and inviting, and hers. Hopefully I've achieved that.

The only thing that pisses me off about this room, is the fact that the furniture is just a little too low for the cushions. It's from the LN EP and I honestly couldn't find anything else in game that fit the bill (still using very little cc) that had higher seat pads.

At this point I'll apologise if you're popping in and out, waiting for a Betty update... it'll be here, eventually.

  5. This is fantastic Lily, and I like the homely/traditional look about the lounge too. I'm sure when you get the chance to show us the rest of Betty's house and update her story,it will be well worth the wait. xxx

I think you've certainly accomplished the "coming home" feeling. It's a lovely, cozy, warm and inviting room.

  9. Well, it's just beautiful, Lily. Nice muted colors (green! I love green lately) and just enough clutter. Very tasteful clutter, that fits well with Betty, too. I adore how you did the wall behind the fireplace -- too cool! Adds a heaping of character to the room.

I hear ya about not being into the Sims too much lately -- I got excited for Generations but when news ran dry, I got into the Dragon Age games and have been addicted to them for the past few weeks. :-p I booted up my Sims game the other day to do some decorating but I wasn't happy with it, so...meh. ;) Anyway, I empathize with ya, and even though I love your Betty stories, I'll take whatever posts I can get from you! :)

  10. Cheers Jen! Not surprised you're stuck into Dragon Age, hubby and son are playing it over and over again, differently each time. It's starting to piss me off because whenever I want something, have to *shush* and wait for the characters to stop talking in case they miss something... they'll miss something alright - they're sodding consoles if they're not careful!

  11. I've really been enjoying your Betty story. I was wondering, when they become middle aged, will you give them the traditional TS1 look, bob with his slobby green shirt, and belly, no hair and beard, and Betty with her purple shirt and black tights?

I always thought Bob and Betty were white trash. Betty a house wife, Bob a job hopping looser. But I guess that in your version they will be a bit more sophisticated, as they seem to have proper jobs and a nice house.

Also, I really want to thank your for the great updated French lots, I have them all in my France and I'm just waiting for one of my families to go and visit it so I can see the lots in action.

  12. Thankyou ani_, I'm glad you've enjoyed both Betty and the French Revamps.

As for when Bob and Betty become middle aged, I've no idea what they'll look like, or even if they'll be a couple... they never seemed like white trash to me, more like a couple who had been disappointed by life and generally worn out by it all without having any fun... then of course, Brandi married Skip Broke and the rest is history, as such.

I haven't played Betty for while now, but I do have plans to move her life a long a bit when I get the new Generations EP ;0) xx

  14. God yes!!! Go twice a week, and have bought all the official DVDs and toning sticks - though I have heard that it's been putting people out of action due to injury. You poor thing, what on earth did you do? Chuck your carcass one way when you were supposed to chuck it another? Are you alright now, babe?

  15. I had too much fun! Yeah, went nutty I suppose LOL I am alright now, had to spend a lovely fortnight on my back in bed which wasn't much fun. Still sore but starting again tomorrow! :-) (even if I only 'watch')

  16. Take it easy - it's exhausting when you're fit, let alone recovering from an injury! I don't reckon you'll manage to just sit and watch, somehow ;0) xx

  17. It is not for the faint at heart that is for sure, but oh so fun! I thought of joining in while sitting down *can you picture THAT??* xxx
